FREE summer challenge starts TODAY! πŸŽ‰

Today is the first day of my FREE summer decluttering series: Little Steps = Big Results!

I'm going to help you get some BIG decluttering wins without it taking a ton of time or effort on your part!

I hope you're excited, because I have a fun first task for you!

THIS WEEK'S DECLUTTERING TASK

πŸͺ‘Get rid of a piece of furniture that you no longer need or use. πŸͺ‘

This is a huge win for you and your home, because furniture takes up a LOT of space.

But so often, we never even see it as clutter. It becomes part of our home's natural landscape, and since it doesn't LOOK like clutter, we never even think to get rid of it.

So just by getting rid of one thing, you can free up some major space in your home!

(Remember, Little Steps = Big Results!)

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • a china cabinet that's no longer being used
  • an old couch that's seen better days
  • an old crib stashed in your basement (πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ)
  • an extra armchair that's never used
  • an unused desk that's turned into a place to pile clutter

The fastest and easiest way to get a large piece of furniture out of your home is going to be to give it away for free or donate it.

Because furniture is so bulky and hard to move, and since it likely has dings & scratches, it likely won't be worth your time trying to sell.

Here are some ideas for getting this item out of your home ASAP:

  • give it away for free in a local "buy nothing" or "free stuff" group on Facebook
  • donate it to Habitat for Humanity ReStore (they offer free pickup services)
  • schedule a bulk trash pickup if the item isn't in good condition

So that's really all there is to it. Identify your piece of furniture, and list it online or schedule a pickup.

This will literally take maybe 10 minutes of your day. And what a difference it will make in your home!

With all the talk about love and all things sentimental this month, I thought this reminder was very sweet and appropriate! "The best things in life are kept in the heart, not in a box in the back of a closet." So often, we try to capture special memories and feelings in the form of something physical.
